Internal Linking Strategy for Service Businesses
Internal links help visitors move through your site and help search engines understand which pages belong together.
Internal linking is one of the simplest SEO improvements a service business can make. It helps people discover related pages, and it helps search engines understand the structure of the site.
Start with your most valuable pages: homepage, core services, pricing, case studies, industries, and contact. These pages should not be isolated. They should be connected from menus, CTAs, body copy, and related sections.
Use descriptive anchor text. A link that says web design services is more useful than a link that only says click here. The anchor should tell the reader what they will get next.
Build clusters. A home services industry page can link to web design, SEO, CRM, case studies, pricing, and relevant blog posts. Those pages can link back to the industry page where it makes sense.
Do not force links everywhere. The goal is a useful path, not a maze. If the link helps the visitor continue their decision, it belongs.
